Why are you interested in healthcare?

My mother started out as a medical technologist and eventually became an administrator giving me an opportunity to experience some of the hospital environment. Fascinated by the challenging and ever-changing healthcare environment, I began law school at Georgia State University in 2012 to pursue a career in health law. I hope to work in government affairs or in a hospital legal department.

How did you get to business school:

Before starting law school at Georgia State, I went to school at the University of Alabama in Huntsville where I majored in business administration.  During my first year of law school, I realized that the healthcare industry was changing and to fully understand the industry, it was essential to also understand the business aspects of healthcare so I decided to also pursue my MBA/MHA.

Why did you choose to attend Georgia State University J. Mack Robinson College of Business?

I chose to attend Georgia State in part due to its location. Atlanta is a thriving area for healthcare with many different opportunities in different types of healthcare organizations. Also, Georgia State has a fantastic health administration program with faculty members with impressive resumes who remain engaged with students long after class is over.

What are you involved in now on campus?

In the business school, I am the Programming Chair for the Future Healthcare Executives. Additionally, in law school, I am the Vice President of Programming for the Student Health Law Association.
