SUMMARY:SCAN Health Virtual Business Case Competition 2018
DESCRIPTION:The SCAN Health Virtual Business Case Competition is the first of four invitational business case competitions designed to build leadership capacity for excellence and innovation in supply chain and logistics strategies in global health systems. This international case competition will bring together the best business school teams in the world to mobilize knowledge and create solutions to advance supply chain capacity in global health systems. \nTeams of four undergraduate students are invited to compete in this competition that will showcase students’ knowledge\, skills\, and innovative solutions to advance supply chain and logistics in a leading global health system. This first of a kind virtual business case competition offers student teams the opportunity to work with global leaders\, as expert advisors\, to support their learning and success in the competition. Through the online SCAN Health Virtual Business Case Competition platform\, students can register a team\, receive and submit all case information\, and interact with expert advisors. \nRegistration Process\nRegistration opens February 5\, 2018. Teams are asked to register on the online SCAN Health Virtual Business Case Competition at www.SCANHealth.ca/virtual-case-competition Upon registration\, teams will be provided all case materials through the secure online platform. \nEligibility\nThe SCAN Health Virtual Business Case Competition is open to all university undergraduate students enrolled in the 2017/2018 academic school year\, globally. There is a maximum of four university undergraduate students per team. All team members must be from the same school. Each team is encouraged to have a faculty lead from their home school and a health system leader or expert to support the team’s success. SUMMARY:Biotech Case Competition
DESCRIPTION:The 15th annual Kellogg Biotech & Healthcare Case Competition will be held on Saturday\, January 20\, 2018. \nThe 2018 competition will feature a challenging healthcare case. Teams from business schools around the world are welcome to apply to participate. Top prize will be $5\,000. \nTeams participating in the event will receive a case on January 12. They will then have seven days to prepare a presentation based on the information in the case. Topics have ranged considerably over the years\, from forecasting sales of a new molecule to considering how best to reduce childhood mortality due to pneumonia in Uganda. \nThe case competition kicks off with an informal dinner on Friday\, January 19. The following day\, teams will present to a panel of judges. There is a debrief session at the end of the day\, followed by dinner and the awards ceremony. \nParticipants can attend the Kellogg Healthcare Conference during their free time. The conference features a series of interesting key note and panel discussions. \nApplications are due December 1\, 2017. The application form will be available here soon. Teams are selected based on their experience and level of interest. \nThe 2017 competition featured a case that focused on building use of chlorhexidine in Nigeria as a way to reduce infant mortality. The case\, developed in partnership with USAID\, was challenging; teams had to consider multiple stakeholders and allocate scare resources. Judges were executives from AbbVie. \nIn 2015\, Poets & Quants named the Kellogg Biotech and Healthcare Case Competition one of the Top 20 Global Business School Case Competitions.
